Actually, only through facebook I've raised 3,000$ to buy a gift for a special friend... What strikes me most is that 89% of the people don't know my friend, and there's a bunch who don't even know me, or I haven't seen in 20 years....
People are wonderful... And I still need $200 to make the difference. Little by little people go to my web and click donate... even $1 helps.

the kindness in strangers...
i am in awe of the fact that 99% of the people who have helped me so far in achiveing a good deed for a friend, are not my friends, some I don't even know.... I send them all the blessings and know that they will receive it back in health and happiness.

I'm thinking about how to cope with the loss of people I love at the same time that I take care of my newborn....
I think that I'm not doing as bad as I feel sometimes...
I'm thinking it's the hormones in the birth control pill.
I hope it is.

Since January 2007, a year and a half ago if you will, my mom (59) has been through some tough moments: the death of her own mom, the death of her aunt who was like a mom too, the death of a nephew (34) who was more like a son to her, the death of the 5 year old son of her godson/nephew, having my sister in a detox facility for two months and... as if it wasn't horrible already, one of her best friends passed away yesterday.
The only good thing is that even though she's far away in another country, she is a first time grandma to my son Ian (3 month old) who happens to be the first child in more than 5 pregnancies that I had... For than we are grateful.
If you can think of something ultra nice that I can do to make my mom happy, let me know. My goal is to have her live in the US with us, it's a possibility because I can have her papers ready in no time but it's hard for her to say goodbye to a city after 50 something years.
